Previously users could post these photos, but would have to use a white padding around the photo for the square format. Instagram now want to officially support landscape and portrait photos.Here is how the new formats look:
It will be interesting to see how this new format looks.
For large phones like the iPhone 6 Plus and Android devices which take large photos this new layout does look really good, but will users want to break away from the square photos they are used to?
